Drew Hanfland b. 2005 Effingham, Illinois
Drew Hanfland is a multi-disciplinary artist and woodworker based in Effingham, Illinois. His work exhibits a wide variety of materials, concepts and techniques while staying true to his passion of creating art, an essential service to life. Truly, he creates what inspires him while providing purpose and reason to his pieces.
Drew immersed himself in the art programs provided at his high school while obeying the time restraint of graduation. Just a month after, he signed a lease to his first studio and committed to artistry as his path moving forward, a primitive goal. His studio now houses a full woodworking shop, a painting studio and resources for other creative outlets like filmmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics and metalworking. His aspirations build a space of opportunity for the passionate and open new ideas like workshops, film studies, and other creative events.
He is taught by massively consuming YouTube’s creative department, following his role models for years and learning from their experience. To name a few, Bob Clagett of “I Like to Make Stuff,” Jimmy DiResta, David Picciuto of “Make Something,” Laura Kampf, Adam Savage, SLEW, the Neistat Brothers and good friend Miles Menely of “Make with Miles.”
